After 20 years of trusted service in Central Florida, Ocean Blue Chemicals enters an exciting new chapter under the leadership of Matt & Marcella Blakey. Building on a rich family legacy, they are committed to delivering the same exceptional pool care that has defined our reputation for two decades.
Matt’s background blends technical and medical expertise. An electrician for ten years, he also volunteered with the Coastguard and ran an event medical business. As a Senior Medical Technician with the UK’s National Health Service (comparable to EMS), he spent six years on the front line, with an additional four years as an Oversight Cell Manager. This role involved coordinating front-line crews and hospital management. These experiences developed his skills in customer care and safety management, which he now applies to Ocean Blue Chemicals.
After college, Marcella began her career in the leisure industry, specifically in fitness facilities. She spent nine years at one facility, maintaining a commercial pool and ensuring the safety of customers by monitoring chemical levels and performing deep cleanings. Later, she transitioned to a facilities manager role for a property developer, overseeing over 100 offices and more than 400 people. Her responsibilities included managing maintenance schedules, health & safety, collaborating with contractors, and providing excellent customer service to tenants.
